As 2024 comes to a close, I wanted to take a moment to connect with you, share the highlights of the year gone by, and give you a glimpse into what’s ahead for Adam Bannister Wildlife. This year has been a journey of transformation, growth, and exploration—and I’m excited to bring you along for the ride.
LOOKING BACK ON 2024
From January to August, we were based in the stunning Maasai Mara, running the beautiful House in the Wild lodge. It was an unforgettable chapter filled with meaningful experiences and connections. However, the call for new challenges and growth led us to take a leap and start Adam Bannister Wildlife—a small, passionate company with big ambitions.
Under the umbrella of Adam Bannister Wildlife, we’ve ventured into:
Bespoke Safaris: Crafting tailor-made journeys across the world’s most extraordinary natural landscapes.
Fine Art Wildlife Photography: Offering prints that bring the beauty of the wild into homes across the globe.
Photography Tuition: Helping clients capture the magic of their safaris through personalised photography lessons.
Guide Training: Launching the Lights, Camera, Wilderness course, a revolutionary approach to guide training that emphasises storytelling, interpretation, and presenting the wonders of nature in memorable ways.
In addition to these endeavours, I spent two months in India consulting for SUJAN, a high-end conservation-tourism company. This role allowed me to mentor their guides and enhance their offerings, ensuring they could deliver truly world-class experiences.
LOOKING AHEAD TO 2025
Next year promises to be even more dynamic and inspiring. Here’s a glimpse of what’s in store:
January to March: I’ll be back at SUJAN Jawai in India, working closely with their guiding team to up-skill, mentor, and elevate the guest experience to new heights.
Guide Training Workshops: Several workshops are already confirmed in Kenya’s remote regions. Having trained nearly 200 guides to date, I find this work deeply fulfilling—transforming guiding from a job into an art form.
Privately Guided Trips: I’ve curated unforgettable safaris for clients across South Africa, Botswana, Kenya, and Tanzania, with more exciting journeys in the pipeline for Africa and India. I will be personally accompanying the guests on many of these adventures.
Fine Art Prints: Demand continues to grow, and I’m thrilled to see my work adorning walls worldwide. I’ll be capturing fresh iconic images and would love to help you find the perfect piece for your space.
EXCITING NEWS: THE LAUNCH OF A NEW PHOTOGRAPHIC COMPETITION
I’m thrilled to announce the launch of The Greatest Wildlife Photographer - Kenya, kicking off on January 1, 2025. Originally launched in 2018 exclusively in the Maasai Mara, the competition ran successfully for six years before a temporary closure. Now relaunched independently, the revamped competition aims to highlight Kenya’s diverse destinations and attractions. I take great pride at now being at the helm of such a fantastic competition, with huge potential.
By collaborating with Partner Lodges across the country, the competition showcases the wildlife diversity that Kenya offers, while raising funds to support Conservation Partners and empower their important work. Featuring the greatest wildlife photography on the planet, the competition provides a platform for photographers from around the world to present their work to an ever-growing audience of wildlife enthusiasts. It promises to be fantastic!
A PERSONAL NOTE
Amidst all these professional ventures, I remain focused on cherishing time with my family. A key focus is to continue building the foundations of a wonderful and exciting life for my little family. I am committed to embracing the raw wild and exposing our two boys to rich cultural and wildlife experiences. Their growth and wonder at the world inspire me every day.
Thank you for being part of this adventure. Whether you’re looking to embark on a bespoke safari, refine your photography skills, find a fine art print that speaks to you, or collaborate on guide training initiatives, I’d love to hear from you. My bespoke safaris are the heart of what I do—crafted with my expertise, storytelling, photography skills, and deep connection to the natural world to deliver unforgettable journeys into nature. I’m also keen to partner with more lodges to expand guide training opportunities and make the wonders of nature and wildlife accessible to even more people. Let’s make 2025 a year of connection, exploration, and shared passion for the wild.
Wishing you a joyous festive season Here’s to a new year brimming with opportunities for adventure, connection, and discovery.
Warm Regards, Adam, Diana, Leo & Kipling Bannister
